Current Scores
How It Works
There are 11 people involved in the official draft: Garvin, Rob, Joe, Kevin, Harrison (the regulars) and those who volunteered to take this adventure with us (Mike from PWTorch, Scott Vyper from Lethal Injection Podcast, Greg from KillTheCan.org, Diva Jill, and Rob’s significant other, Amanda.
Each person must select a roster of 5. Those 5 are broken down: 2 from WWE, 2 from TNA and one wildcard (meaning, they could be from either company). Each week, we’ll look at every match that is televised (Raw, Impact, Smackdown and PPVs), tally up the results, and award points. There is an allowance for trades between teams (wrestler for wrestler), as well as with the bank (in case of injury).
If, per chance, someone misses the deadline and does not get their pick in on time, they will skip that round. They will be able to recoup their pick when everyone else has finished their 5 picks.
The Scoring
Each individual wrestler will score points using the following structure:
- +3 = Singles win via pin/submission (also would include meeting the goal of the match, such as escaping the cage, etc.)
- +2 = Tag Team win via pin/submission
- +1 = Win via DQ/countout or Draw
- +0 = Loss
Bonus points will be awarded for the following situations:
- +1 = Win A Title Match
- +.5 = Win A 3+ Person/Team Match
- +.5 = Defeat A Champion (Tag Matches, or Multi-person matches satisfy this)
- +.5 = Defeat a FTW Opponent (If Harrison’s guy defeat’s Rob’s guy, Harrison gets .5 points. – Only applies once, regardless of how many opponents are owned.)
At the end of each week (Tuesday), we’ll post a leaderboard update with the top 10 wrestlers in TNA/WWE based on these point values. And, we’ll also add up everyone’s team totals to rank each FTW team.
The Schedule
FTW Draft: Season Two’s live draft will take place from Tuesday, April 17th’s Episode 110 through Sunday, April 22nd. Scoring will begin with April 23rd’s Raw and official rosters will be announced on Episode 111.
It goes a full 3-months, which will see 4 TNA PPVs and 4 WWE PPVs:
- WWE PPVs: Extreme Rules (4/29), Over the Limit (5/20), No Way Out (6/17), MITB (7/15)
- TNA PPVs: Lockdown (4/15), Sacrifice (5/13), Slammiversary (6/10), Destination X (7/8)
How can I get involved?
Get together with your friends, and do the same thing. Make your own roster of wrestlers as we did – 5 total, 2 from each company with a wild card – and keep track week by week as we post the points results. You can comment on those postings as well as on our Facebook page to trash-talk, gloat, grumble, and so on. As always, you can email any of the hosts individually if you did especially great that week and want to rub it in. And, if you want your drafts to be added to the official list, just send us your results.
The Draft Order
Last season, we went with a randomized order (Rob, Kevin, Harrison, Garvin and Joe). From there, we “snaked the draft” until all 5 were drafted. This season, we are doing the same process. However, we have a new order. The “FTW Originals” are ordered by last season’s performance:
- Garvin (121.5)
- Joe (107)
- Rob (88.5)
- Kevin (60.5)
- Harrison (56.5)
From there, we’ll add everyone else:
- Garvin
- Amanda
- Joe
- Mike
- Rob
- Scott
- Kevin
- Greg
- Conor
- Jill
- Harrison
So, to explain the snake, in rounds 1,3 and 5, Garvin will choose first and Harrison will choose last. In rounds 2 and 4, Harrison will choose first and Garvin will choose last.
